WORSHIP SERVICE

AUGUST 23, 2026

ORDER OF WORSHIP

MEDITATION

John 3:14-15

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life

CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 63:1-8

Leader:

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
    beholding your power and glory.

All:

Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.

Leader:

My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
    and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
when I remember you upon my bed,
    and meditate on you in the watches of the night;

All:

for you have been my help,
    and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
My soul clings to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

CORPORATE PRAYER + LORD'S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

WORSHIP IN SONG

CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

All:

Heavenly Father, we are often caught up in temptation and the lure of the world. We have strayed from our relationship with you through withdrawal, distance, coldness, unforgiveness, self-righteousness, pride, or anger. We resist your grace and spurn intimacy with you out of fear. Instead of resting in you, we seek comfort in legalism and in keeping the law. Lord, we are all wounded. We are in need of a fresh revelation of you. By your Spirit, remind our hearts again that we are your sons and daughters and that we are loved beyond measure. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

PRIVATE CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Women's Ministry

Crossroads' Women's Ministry emphasizes two things. The first is to help Christians grow through Bible Study, prayer and fellowship. The second is to reach out to people who are at different stages of their spiritual journey through a variety of creative activities. Of course, whenever women get together, lots of conversation and friendships occur that are encouraging to everyone.
